Day 16 - Part 1

What a beautiful day, cycling down from Kendal to Whalley took me on the A6 to Broughton where I took a left onto the B5269.

On route I found a park bench in Lancaster where I sat watching the world go by and gave Penny (Fell that is) a catch up call.

After a long chat I continued on and met the new back up crew in the motor home, Paul and Chris his wife.

I then ventured on and arrived in Whalley just after 4 o’clock and after having a few pictures taken of me by the town sign I then visited the field in which the center of the UK (excluding islands) is reputed to be (another tick in the box).

I then went to book into Whalley Abbey for the evening but was surprised to be met there by my cousin Nigel who only lives 27 miles away. He presented me with an energy pack for the rest of my travels but warned me not to eat the liquorice one until my last day (something about side effects?).

After a good chat with Nigel he left to attend to his dogs which were in need of their tea at home.

A little later, my son in-law john’s sisters arrived, Helen & Sally, to say hello. We had a drink and a chat at a local pup “The Swan” before they left to go home.

It was so nice of them all to make the effort and come and see me. Thank you 🙂

Hey, what a lovely surprise for you to have visitors! Very thoughtful of them all.
You’re doing so well, tracking you all day on my phone, even putting sticky tags in my map book as you cycle each day! I think Clare and Jack are doing Saturday with you, we’re really looking forward to seeing you. Be safe and be blessed, much love x x x
