Up and on wards I followed the cairns until I came to the 3 which told me to turn left, a hundred or so meters through deeper snow and I had eventually reach the summit. Through the low cloud I made out the triangulation point which marks the summit and took a self portrait of me and it. After 5 1/4 hours I had reached the summit, 4,409 ft (1,344m), the highest point in the UK – tick in the box.
